Computer Forensics

In today’s electronic world, the evidence needed to prevail in a matter will likely be stored electronically. Traditional physical evidence does not degrade through observation and analysis, but electronic evidence can be compromised simply by opening, viewing, copying, or printing the information.

OnlineSecurity provides a comprehensive computer forensics service that insures that the relevant information on a system will be found and can be presented as authenticated and admissible evidence.

Service Description:

  • OnlineSecurity will obtain an evidentiary copy of the information from all relevant systems in a matter.
  • OnlineSecurity’s forensic engineers will perform evidence search based on the key terms and parameters of a matter.
  • As required by the specific needs of a matter, OnlineSecurity’s forensics engineers may perform advanced forensic techniques including the recovery of deleted or damaged evidence, registry forensics and analysis, and timeline reconstruction.

Delivery Mechanism:

  • OnlineSecurity will meet with the client to determine the scope of forensic collection and the relevant search terms.
  • Forensic collection can be performed at the client site or at OnlineSecurity’s forensic laboratory.
  • The authentication, preservation, examination, and recovery of evidence from the evidentiary copy will be performed by OnlineSecurity’s forensics engineers at OnlineSecurity’s forensic laboratory.
  • Throughout the forensic process, OnlineSecurity’s engineers will follow court accepted forensic protocols, so  that in the event the evidence must be presented in court, OnlineSecurity can testify to the authenticity, integrity, and veracity of the evidence.

Deliverables:
Subject to discovery and disclosure considerations, OnlineSecurity will provide to the client a detailed forensics report encompassing systems collected, chain of custody, search results, forensic parameters, and observations from the forensics engineer.
