What you don’t know can hurt you. Cyber criminals will exploit vulnerable systems for nefarious purposes. Securing an organization is a complex and variable challenge, and no solution is perfect; therefore it is imperative for an organization to understand where it is vulnerable.
OnlineSecurity’s Vulnerability Assessment Service provides organizations with a means to assess their level of security under real world testing conditions allowing them to fix vulnerabilities before they are exploited.
Service Description:
- In general the following three components comprise a vulnerability assessment.
- Interview key technical and leadership people within the organization to asses current state of security.
- Perform an external cyber security assessment which could include a cyber vulnerability scan, hacking attack, or blended threat attack such as social engineering.
- Perform an internal cyber security assessment which would consider how effectively policies and procedures prevent malicious internal behavior in practice.
- High value targets, such as a data center, will be specifically targeted.
- A vulnerability assessment may be one component of a more comprehensive security assessment which may also include penetration testing, policies and procedure review, and network security implementations.
Delivery Mechanism:
- OnlineSecurity will meet with the client to determine the scope and goals of the assessment and prepare a proposal and/or work plan accordingly.
- The majority of the assessment work will occur at the client’s location and will require that OnlineSecurity have the cooperation from and access to key technical and leadership individuals within the organization.
- Portions of the assessment will occur remotely. OnlineSecurity will be in constant communication with the client prior and during any external security assessments to assure that the testing has not affected the network performance in any way.
- OnlineSecurity will synthesize the assessment findings with information from the interviews to create the assessment report.
Deliverables:
OnlineSecurity will provide to the client a detailed assessment report encompassing the client’s security posture and threat environment, vulnerabilities discovered and their implications for the organization, and recommendations to secure the organization.
